NGC 6888 Crescent Nebula

Constellation Cygnus

In the NGC this is classified as a "nebula" but it is a form of planetary nebula. The crescent of gas, about 18 arcminutes end-to-end was originally shed by the central star and is being pushed outwards by intense radiation from the star.
